You know the problem must be silly when you can login from everywhere but that one phone
So I am four months into my first job as IT for a company that provides support and solutions to SMEs mainly. I have a lot of juicy tales from here for another day.
Today, let's start with something so mind bogglingly simple to solve.
Characters: $me, $colleague and $lady.
So I got a call from $lady, and she explained her situation, basically:
She spoke with $colleague earlier, and she couldn't login to webaccess for Email on her Android phone but can from anywhere else.
So I asked $colleague what's happening. Basically, he tried logging into her email from his desktop, phone and even my boss's phone with no issues, but her phone doesn't let her log in.
So I guided her to add her Exchange account on her phone for the meantime and told her I'll take a look at it the next time I am there.
Fast forward to the next day, the printer isn't working so I made my way there. I met $lady and decided to take a look at her phone.
I watched her log into webaccess closely. Her username is basically firstname.lastname, and I noticed something when she typed that period.
Her frigging keyboard added a space after the period and she didn't notice. I flipped a setting and now she can login with no issues.
TL;DR: Periods and keyboards don't work well together and are a bitch.
