GPS Watches

Have been comparing GPS watches on the market and just wanted some feedback on the ones out there now, and if anyone has been using the newer Garmins with the HR built into the wrist? The two main things I care about are long battery life and great connection on the trails. Doing longer and longer races now, and it's time for a new watch. Suggestions would be much appreciated!
