Traveling out of country while on EI

Long story short: A friend has a free weekends stay at a hotel in Vermont and I want to go. I have been collecting EI for a month and a half now. We would be leaving Canada late Friday night (crossing the border at like 9 or 10pm) and coming back a similar time on Sunday. Would I lose my benefits for the week?

The government's website doesn't specify anything about weekends, only that I must be available to work "each day". But it's not like companies are having interviews and hiring on weekends...
