As a software engineer applying to a mid-size startup, should I do a final round, cultural-fit interview in-person or on the phone?

Work

The medium-sized company basically gave me a choice between phone or in-person. I've already gone through the "meat" of the interviews, the behavioral and technical aspects, and those went well, but there's one last meeting (basically a cultural-fit chat with a company executive) before they make an offer. It'd be easier for me to do it on the phone due to not taking the work day off and travel, but I'm sure there's an adage or advice somewhere that face-to-face meetings trump phone communication.
