[TOMT][RPG Video Game]Played in the late 90s, downloaded for free, storyline involved traveling to a magic school which was leaking poison into a river, towns to explore with sick villagers, low level graphics, turn based battles

Like the title says. I've googled all the things I can remember about the game, but it's kind of generic as far as early RPG's go I guess. I remember fighting giant rats and nagas. Characters appeared as pixelated cutouts. If they got tired, a yawn sound played. Running your party into an enemy sprite on the map resulted in a "fight" sound effect involving a lot of metal clashes, and then the turn-based screen would open. I think you respawned in some kind of fortress if things killed you? You could also go to the website where the free version was and give them money, and they'd give you the full version of the game. I can't remember the name of the game or distributor.
