What's Up with Tracks Having 'Extended Mix' In the Title Instead of 'Original'?

I've noticed that tracks these days have 'Extended Mix' in the title instead of 'Original Mix' or nothing after the main title of the track. Are the original versions of them now radio edits, or tracks these days are a lot shorter in length compared to older ones that were 8-12 minutes long?

Sorry if this topic seems a bit unfitting to some, but thought I'd see what others think of this and see if it's a bit odd like I think it is.
