My wife is about to get weight loss surgery. I don't want her to.

The doctor called today and scheduled her surgery for 2 weeks from now. She's extremely excited, I'm not. All I can think about are the risks with any surgery. I want her to be happier and healthier but fuck man I can't bear the thought of losing her. The risk just doesn't seem worth it. I'm terrified. I've had depression for the last couple of years so I think I will give my guns to a buddy the day before her surgery. Just a safety precaution. I met her when I was 16 she's been my whole life for 10 years....if anything happened....

I'm usually a pretty rational person. This situation however has me shook up pretty hard. [light]

Edit: I am overwhelmed at the reassuring responses. You guys are great. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I posted this I just had to get it out there without projecting my fears onto my wife. I've calmed down a lot and we talked last night. First time I've cried in several years. She asked me if I wanted her to cancel (one of the reasons I didn't want to say anything to her), I said absolutely not. I'm still nervous for her but it's nothing like my initial response.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement and reassurance!
