On Getting MR2 Monsters / Using Clone CD

So it's obviously been an awful long time since I've tried using Clone CD. Despite the state of Monster Rancher Metro, there's even still a working link to where you can get the old freeware copy of Clone CD, etc. My problem lies in that I can't get Clone CD to actually work.

Windows 7, and it's saying it can't get the CloneCD Device Driver to load. I've rebooted the PC, given CloneCD full permissions to run in compatibility mode / full admin, what have you. Just can't get the damn program to work.

Any suggestions from people still using it / still playing MR2?

All I wanted was to make a disc for a Worm...

Edit - Exact full error message appears after accepting the EULA, before having any access to any element of the program.

Says, "Unable to load the CloneCD device driver! After Installation of CloneCD Windows has to be restarted!"
