Tribal Magic

A story I'm writing takes place on a polar continent equivalent to antarctica. The tribes living there have tribal, primitive magical powers, but the problem is I can't think of many.

So far the only one I've thought of is that they can, by wearing the skin of animal that has been killed in a certain way, they can become that animal. They use seal skins to hunt fish, bird skins to fly, polar dragon skins to fight, that sort of thing.

Can you think of more kinds of magic or powers that would fit into this sort of setting?

EDIT: Primitive might be the wrong word, I meant more of the old ideas of magic, connected very much with nature and life/death.
