Need help finding info on my father's side of the family.

My grandmother who has been a colossal help in finding out her side of the family, unfortunately hasn't been able to help me much in regards to my father'/grandfather's side of the family.

I know very little about him, other than that his name is William Broadway Sr., and that he lived in South Carolina - I'm presuming for his whole life, as I do not know if he has lived anywhere outside of SC.

He was born on aug 13 1926, again, where I do not know but most likely SC. He served in the U.S. Navy during world war 2, and his gravestone does not mention any other wars, so I'm guessing that was the last armed conflict he was in.

I know it's not much to go on, I can probably try and ask my father if he knew anything, although I sincerely doubt it due to the fact that he passed on 4/15/1972, and my dad was really young, so that route might not work.

Note, Any info you guys can dig up would be appreciated, and please do let me know if there is anything I can do in the meantime.

Any ideas? And yes, I have tried doing my own research, but I have hit brick walls, My dad mentioned something about a genealogy book, but we tore up the house and still haven't found it.

One last thing: i hope the information I gave helps, this is the first time I have really had an intrest so all of this is a bit new to me.
