Wookiee life debts

Are there any details regarding any kind of ceremony (ad hoc or otherwise) behind Wookiee life debts? The wiki doesn't really have a lot info regarding this - is there some kind of rite they go through or is it as simple as "You're a pretty cool dude for saving my life going to follow you about now"?
