Why does (almost) everyone seem to be removing minifigs before selling?

I come across so many auctions where they proudly say 'box opened only to carefully remove the minifigures, then resealed', like I'm going to be happy that they took anything out at all.
I'd rather they removed one mystery piece and let me lose my mind trying to figure out which piece was taken.
Anyways, it bugs me.
