How do you make friends?

Seen a few similar post on the topic however none that I can connect to.

I have recently left uni, over 6 months. Most of my friends have moved back home, due to funds etc..

At work I get on with people, get to joke and go out for drinks but don't seem to make many contacts

How do you guys make friends? When it comes to people I can connect to one or two people max! It is worrying when trying to make contacts or just general people to shoot the spit with I cannot.

My usual game plan is asking what their spaghetti policy is or random t.v quotes

What sort of things do you guys say/ask? My criteria is weird but I dont know how to select people I want to spend time with
