Getting discouraged - could use some advice
Hey guys, you can look at my post history and read the whole saga, but I wanted some more advice.
My two girls Pepper and Paprika are still difficult to work with. So far i've managed to get them eating out of my hand (parsley/lettuce) and I can get them to sit on my lap if i'm feeding them. However wen we're doing floor time, if i'm not feeding them, i'm just talking to them and try to pet them, they just hide in the corner as close to the wall as possible and seem super scared. I've had them for about 3 weeks now and I feel like i've not made any progress.
Is there anything else I can try doing to get them more used to me and to make them less skittish towards me? I feed them twice a day fresh veggies, always have fresh hay/water and they have a large clean cage. During the day they pretty much always hide in the pigloo. I know they come out and eat at some point, but everytime I go in, they're in their pigloo. We do floor time for about 30 minutes a night, and I try to interact with them every morning when I feed them before work, but they're pretty much alone during the day.
Any advice?
