Mount Vedder Classic

The Mount Vedder Classic is being held this May in Chilliwack BC. Has anyone here ridden it in previous years? They're offering a 15km single track option for beginning racers and I've heard that it boasts mainly blue rated trails. If you've raced it before or ridden on Moun Vedder at all, what do you rate as being the most difficult aspects for beginners? My physical ability im fairly confident with, I ride a 29er hardtail and should eat up the uphill, but am concernd for potentially a lot of raised narrow wooden sections and an extremely gnarly downhill. The track choice will be released soon but it's a fairly inconvenient commute for me and I may not have the opportunity to test the trails before the race to see how comfortable I may be.
