What mech keyboard can I get at a price ceiling of $60?

Mostly looking for something to casually play Skyrim/F4/F3/NV and the occasional GSG. Currently using a membrane Razer and while it has served me well I would like an upgrade. Ideally any keyboard suggested would have Cherry Brown switches.

EDIT: So I decided to get the Rantopad MXX with red switches. They may not be my preferred switch but reds aren't horrible either.

QFR in blues is $60, browns for $75. Still a great deal though.

Yeah I could push it to 80, hell even 100 since my search through amazon is yielding relatively damn good boards at the $80-$85 range. Anything less and I start to get nothing.

Rantopad MXX with Red switches. (not brown, but reds are good for gaming too, I believe)

I actually really like the design. The aluminum grey cover with MX reds is going now at $75. I'm really tempted to buy but at the same time I love the feel of browns.

Wow, I got my for 60$ just a week ago or so :D

I do love browns too btw - both Ducky Mini and Logitech G710+ that I have (one at the office and the other is my previous board for home) had browns.

I must say that I like blues' feel two. The one downside (for some people) is the clicks they make.

Never tried reds. Maybe you should find a test sample with reds somewhere and see if you like the feel.

I did go to a local micro center a few days ago and they had a ducky board with an assortment of Cherry MX switches for you to try out. Reds were nice, felt pretty good if not a little soft. Blacks were interesting, blues were nice but loud as hell and browns were in the Goldilocks zone.

That said I'm pumped about getting my first mech, and I think that MX Reds are typically a persons first mech switch anyhow.

what games you play really doesn't matter, it's more about what you think looks good, and what switches you prefer.

I admit it probably doesn't matter, but when so many brands market themselves to the MMO/RTS/MOBA one begins to suspect that some keyboards are designed around those game genres. Again, I'm clueless about mech's so I'm probably overthinking it.

I can't think of any with Cherry MX Browns under $60. You'd have to go with a knockoff from Aliexpress, Banggood, or TaoBao for that.

I could try that. I was pretty naive to think I'd get anything in the $60 range. Thankfully once I raise the ceiling to $75 I get some decent boards, although they are tenkeyless and the platform starts to feel a little weird.

I just got a used Ducky Shine 3 TKL for $70, just FYI

I don't like the board too much aesthetically. Still a damn good price considering I did a quick search and found the cheapest board at $109. By no means a full-on investigation but it wasn't easy to find anything affordable.

you can find some cheap used board on ebay. if you look out enough, there are some CM Storm QFR for just around $40~50

I found a few QFR's but I didn't like the design much. If I had the money I'd go and snag myself a Ducky or Das but the lower-end brands just look mediocre. In the end I went with Gateron (knock off cherry's I know....) for my first mech board but I think they'll do.

The QFR also doesn't have backlit keys. I'd rather just get a Corsair K70 for $76.

There is a Ganss GS87 in blues and Reds sold by Corus for 66 bucks on amazon, no tax or shipping. Unfortunately their MX Brown one i f out of stock at this very moment, which is odd, so if you're impatient you'll have to look elsewhere.

The Azio MGK1 blues are at 59.99 right now but the brown switch option is 79.99. It's a really nice board for the price, comes with included wrist rest, volume scroll wheel is really nice (more boards should have this), and the aluminum backplate and floating keys give it a premium feel. They do come with Khalih switches which feel a bit lighter than regular mx switches.

So far I don't regret getting the MXX. Keycaps are great, switches feel good and delivery was prompt.
