r/SLO link flair information

Pinned[SUB INFO]

Hello there!

You may have noticed some extra color in the subreddit recently. The mod team has tweaked the link flairs available, and I thought it would be a good idea to give everyone some basic guidelines of what each flair generally represents.

[SLO FOOD] - Things to do with... food. Restaurant raves, "where should I get the best <?>" requests, and general foodie things.

[SLO EVENTS] - Events happening in the SLO area. Also applies to any future r/SLO meetups that might be held. Superseded by [PROMOTIONS] if the poster has anything to gain from the post.

[SLO TOURISM] - Posts regarding "touristy" stuff. Especially related to people posting in the sub who are looking for suggestions while they visit for a weekend or so. This tag will be helpful in creating a "Things to Do in SLO" wiki page down the road.

[SLO OUTDOORS] - Awesome outdoor stuff. Suggest a hiking trail. Post a beautiful beach picture.

[LOCAL NEWS] - Generally links which direct to the Tribune, or any other local news site. Also self post/discussions of local news. If it's information that applies to residents of the area, use this tag.

[PROMOTION] - Anything where the poster gains something from whatever visibility their post garners. Advertisements, "roommate requests", hiring posts, and direct links to a person's website are some of the things that would fit this category. If something fits this AND another category, it should always be tagged as [PROMOTION].

[SUB INFO] - Anything related to the subreddit. Rules, announcements, questions for the moderators, etc.

It's nigh-impossible to create a flair for every possible type of post, but we think we've covered a large majority of the ones you find in our subreddit. We've also included a way to 'filter by flair type'; the buttons can be found in the subreddit side bar.

Now is the time to hit us with questions. It's hard to think of everything while in our little moderator-think-tank, so please ask us questions and we'll do our best to clarify.
