Like the guy said, socialism caused some of the richest countries in the world, specifically countries in Western Europe and Scandinavia.
Communism though, oh me oh my. Doesn't work, will never work. Tankies who think it's good compare the western world to USSR, DDR and N. Korea.

Full on Communism will never be viable in reality, it enforces the ideal of putting your fellow man above themselves, and that's not how humans were programmed. It essentially punished those who wish to seek higher education and skills since they wouldn't be properly rewarded for their efforts when the 500 pound retard is making the same amount for simply living. It's also governed by a central body of government, that at any point in time could just become a selfish egomaniac and crash the entire thing. The reason China still persists is simply because they realized the it wasn't working and compromised on it, and their government is still riddled with corruption.

You ever notice that these countries are largely homogenous and their populations are vested in being productive because it benefits them? They try to take a small EU country's model and apply it to the clusterfuck US of A, and don't see that we lack everything that could make socialism work. Not that I support socialistic policies personally, but NatSoc would be the best bet if people didnt think "6 million Jews" every time the word came up

Communism has failed to exist properly because it has failed to come into existence properly. A communist society is supposed to be the step following post-industrial society. In practice, communism has been used as an attempt to skip the negatives of industrialism while maintaining the positives, namely, well, industrialization.
