IDViking KY Review

Review

Communication [11/10]: Customer service is where Viking really excels. Emailed him multiple times and the longest I ever had to wait for a response was 2 hours, and all of his communications with me were extremely nice. He even let me jump into his 241 promo after it had closed.

Price [9/10]: It's hard to beat $75 for two IDs, let alone 4. Seems like he always has some sort of promo.

Speed [NA/10]: Production team missed some files (including mine) at the end of the promo, so I'll let this one slide.

Stealth [5/10]: Anyone who opens your mail will see the IDs, but it's enough to get through customs.

Photoshop [9/10]: I really like the photoshop on these, it looks pretty accurate next to my real ID, but I docked a point because the ear shadows are SO SO SO subtle that I feel a bouncer would not even notice them.

Template [9.5/10]: Everything looks pretty great, drivers licence number follows proper format, custom sig looks good. My only complaint is that my address is in Boone County but all of Viking's KY's say Anderson County. Also, and this isn't in the barbook, but the KY DMV uses a different font for just the 'E' in 'Exp' as a kind of odd security feature, but that's being extremely nitpicky.

Scanning [10/10]: Everything checks out.

UV [8/10]: It's there and in the correct spot, which is good, but the ink is too dark of a hue. The UV in the barbook is very noticeably brighter.

Holos [7/10]: Also there and in the correct place, so they look good. The lam has pointed corners instead of rounded, pretty significant OPE, and the dupe failed the bend test pretty quickly (to be expected from a PVC ID). Not too upset about the dupe though because there was something under the lam causing a pretty large bubble anyway [reprint? ;) ].

Overall [8.5/10]: I've got no regrets about buying this ID for use in the eastern Midwest. Like I said, it's hard to beat $75 for a pair of IDs from a (relatively) underfaked state in my area.
