Account frozen, support claims Steam charge back.

Other

I tried logging onto the game yesterday, and found that my account has been frozen. (0x8111000E)

I read up on the help article, and found that I had to contact support regarding this issue. Alright. That turned out to be an unprecedented obstacle, however; I could not log onto warthunder.com in order to contact Gaijin support. I was able to reset my password via email, the game recognizes my account if I try logging on, but I just could not log onto the website no matter what.

Eventually, I was able to find a special form via Google, a form that did not seem to be linked anywhere on the Gaijin Support website. I explained my situation, and including the hoops I had to jump through to reach them. I was told that my account was frozen due to fraud report from Steam - that I charged back one or more of my Steam purchases for War Thunder. As a result, my account is blocked permanently.

I'm pretty sure that I never made a charge back on or through Steam, and haven't bought anything on WT via Steam for at least 14 months.

What should I do at this point? Any ideas?

Edit: I checked both my Steam and PayPal history, and saw no indication of charge backs made, or even any suspicious activity. I emailed support mentioning as such, let's hope I receive a reply soon.

Update: Support got back to me a few hours ago, and my worst fears came true: It had nothing to do with Steam, and everything to do with the Chinese merchant I had been dealing with, someone who logged onto other accounts and purchased at Russian, discounted prices on their behalf.
Well, it looks like said merchant charged back all their purchases, taking down the accounts of pretty much all of his customers with them; customers who left nothing but positive reviews. It's started an absolute SNAFU over on Chinese forums, with many players reporting the same fate.
And with the merchant's account on Taobao vanished since earlier today, it's been impossible to contact them, and try to resolve the situation that way.

You'll have to contact Steam support and work it out with them. SCREENSHOT EVERYTHING SAID IN ALL CONVERSATIONS so you have something to show the support reps from each side.

Did you by any chance ever buy eagles from a 3rd party? (ie not gaijin or steam).

As a matter of fact, I have. That isn't the cause though, if I'm reading their reply correctly.

Their issue seem to lie with Steam. Via Steam, at least.

Sorry mate but it is.

Basically the code you bought was first purchased via fraud, hense the bans.

Or, atleast, you've been caught up in their banning of fraudulent accounts due to that flag. Where did you buy the codes? G2A?

It was a reputable Russian proxy buyer. Nothing as shady as G2A.

Even if that was the issue, the reply I got from Gaijin support mentioned nothing of the sort. Only Steam.

For now, I'll try and get Gaijin support to look into the Steam side further. Hopefully it won't involving having to contact Steam support... Their reputation proceeds them.
