The Only Life Left In Me

Although no fate promises a future with you

Although the seams holding us will betray us too

It's our dreams, our hopes,

That are more alive than the once promised tomorrow.

Alone we lie, eyes withered from all the tears, the sorrow,

But closely knit are our souls, rising together, never sore.

So I'll close my eyes, and let your wings wrap around me,

I'll let you take me past the stars, to the ruins of that evergreen comfort.

Time will tell, what our love's worth,

Was it just to hurt?

To be stepped on, as if forlorn dirt.

But I'll close my eyes, and let your voice calm me,

The only sign of life left in me,

The hope of your voice next to me.
