Coaching and advertisement on our subreddit
###Hey everyone!
We've been seeing an influx of threads advertising coaching (both paid and free) as well as an increase in complaints about the prevalence of these threads as of late. Myself and the mod team here have discussed what the best response, if anything, would be to make people happier with the overall quality of the sub and curb the 'issue'.
After a bit of discussion, we've come to the agreement that from now on we aren't going to allow any threads whose sole purpose is to offer 1-on-1 coaching, whether the coaching is paid or unpaid. The exception to this is if the coaching is done in a community format, such as a stream or a group event, and is not paid.
That said, we don't want to eliminate coaching entirely, and you are welcome to offer free or paid coaching within relevant threads. This means if someone is asking how to improve and shows interest within their post or the comments about coaching, you aren't going to get in trouble for offering. This doesn't mean go offer to coach someone when theyre asking what the best counters are to Sven. You are free to do whatever you want through PMs.
Lastly, we'll be changing the coach available flair to a community event flair, which will encompass educational streams, tournaments, inhouses, etc.
TL;DR: No more threads about coaching unless it is a group event or a stream as well. You may offer in relevant threads if someone seems interested. Educational streams, etc, are still allowed. Do whatever the FUCK you want to do in PMs.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If this decision is disliked by the community it may be changed.
Thanks everyone,
