[First Impressions] No. 288 Bleeker Sneakers

Review

Album

I've been on a bit of a spree lately with a pair of Viberg Coffee Chrompak and then these new low-tops. I was looking to pick up a pair of white low-tops to wear during the warmer months (which for me in SF is Feb-early/mid Dec). I've been oscillating between the ever popular Common Projects Achilles Low and Adidas Tubular Nova.

But lo and behold, seeing a white sneaker post on PutThisOn with these No. 288 sneakers in the post. Seeing that it was on End, in my size, and on deep discount ($379 down to $169). I just had to do it.

Can I just say how efficient Fedex is at long routes? I ordered these sneakers late last Thursday (3/17) and they should've arrived yesterday (3/21) if not for a delivery fiasco. Not to mention the recent raising of minimum cost for duties. How absolutely convenient. This was easier and faster than buying from Brooklyn Clothing Co. or Viberg directly.

I'm not certain how comparable they are to CP Achilles or MMM Gats, as I haven't tried them on. But definitely much much nicer than the MiUSA NB that I've tried. The suede and whatever the non-suede pieces are made of are extremely soft. The suede itself is some of the softer suede I've felt and owned. As a whole they're quite comfortable, not nearly as comfortable as my Common Projects BBall Highs though, but those are much more cushioned all around. These are very comfortable to walk around in and other than the normal breaking in of the heel of sneakers, no complaints at all.

As for the brand, I don't know too much about No. 288 other than what I've read on End about them. If anybody knows more, I'd love to know! These sneakers seem well made, every detail is perfect and well-done. I love the little stitching on the heel with the numbering.

I like them! They do a good job at the whole "minimalist" thing with a little bit of flair.

Those look great! I love the natural leather accents. White + tan/brown always looks great. I'd never heard of No. 288, but now I'll have to keep an eye out.

Thanks for the write-up!
