Level 50+ Questions

Question

So far since I have hit 50 I have been spending my time doing the dailies or trade runs. I have seen a lot of people saying the best way to farm post 50 would be to invest energy in certain nodes and to grind for rare items there. I have seen plenty of korean guides on where to go post 50 but does anyone have anything that is specifically for the current NA/EU release? It would help a lot since I feel a bit lost on what I should be doing when I log in everyday. (Sorry for the formatting on mobile.)

excuse my shit wording, i wrote it all really really fast. ( or ask me to clarify , i'm sure someone has a better rotation, i'm level 51.7-ish witch atm ) invest in the nodes around trent since this is your exp/loot area grinding. do all the dailies that are around that whole area southwest of calpheon, it exposes you to all of the following goody end gear you will need.: shadow people for mark of shadow rings, these are up in the hills past the orc reuthums or w/e. hex santuary area for witch's earrings . calpheon shrine people for just plain best exp gain. ogres for the ogre ring(amulet+10ap) which spawns in the mansha forest. 5-man group calpheon shrine people for level's and gear drops to sell. these are the things i do everyday-ish(unless i just feel like staring at a wall while doing life skills) the daily set should be, in no particular order... (1 , hex santuary quests from the nearby city + alchemy lady in that camp ) ( 2 , rehutums orcs from that small ditch in the road + quests from trent ) ( 3, mansha goblins from small ditch in the road. also kill 2-4 ogres a day is a healthy thing to do ) ( 4, shadow people from that dude up in the hills behind reuthums orc people.. ) ( 5, cyclops / shrine people from the calpheon jeweler guy, should be a black spirit repeat ) (6 , dick around .. you are done with dailies.. should have taken around 2-3 hours with all the spacing out and town runs + pvp skirmishes with other guilds ) ( 7, not done playing? get a group of 5 people and simple grind religiously at the shrine.. just up the hill from trent .. this is the best way to simply get raw exp for your levels... like seriously, 50-51 in one day vs 3-6 days doing dailies.. the exp rate is that different when you just sit down in one spot and grind your ass off )

Must be painful to level up after 50. Isnt the highest player currently 56?

2
AngryKooterO_o•

i'm a bit more casual( 9-6 mon-fri job ).. strangely, it really isn't that painful if you like the combat of your character, especially compared to a raid commitment of other games such as WoW, that doesn't even guarantee any character improvement or loot to sell. we got six level 54's in my guild, one 55?(maybenot) and no 56's.. my daily login time(1-4hours) for grinding is only 0-2 hours.. the other 1-4 hours i spend messing around doing basically nothing. mass producing beer or taking selfies of beautiful scenery i find..... or, whenever a thunder storm comes, i stop what i am doing and just listen ( i love the rain + thunder in this game ) PS: i just got "drift" on the T5 horse that was given to me at start... all i did yesterday was skid around with that silly fun horse skill. ( i waste a lot of time like this and i'm 51.7-ish )

ChaoticsaurOP•

There was a big thunder storm in the Heidel area yesterday it was beautiful!

AngryKooterO_o•

yea! i stood in the blacksmith's shop and space out hard. speaking of heidel , get house 9-4 ? i think it is the only 3 story home in BDO atm. ( it's so big, i'm only decorating one floor... might take a while to furnish the place..)

Wow! Then, what am i doing wrong? Im currently grinding for levels at the Bandit area, i just came from Khuruto territory, and slowly but surely, leveling up, 1-2 hours per level. I spend $30 on buying the game, never plan to spend any more, saving up for Dark souls and PSVR.

1
Blurp3•

You should have gone red orcs->bandits->khurutos->chimeras->giants->catfish

2
AngryKooterO_o•

whaat!? bandits after khruto cave? i think that might be backwards? either way, best indicator is : the mobs name should be a pink to red color for best exp returns... look up a color chart of mob difficulties. if the mob name is green/yellow , they are a lower level than you and are wasting your time if your goal is to get good exp/time . unless you more enjoy the slaughtering of lower level creatures.. nothing wrong with that, just takes longer :p

No one is more than about 10-12% into 55. The exp gain basically doesn't exist at that point. The funny thing is, when Mediah comes out getting past 55 will be trivial. there's literally no reason for people to be grinding so hard. Level 54 is more than enough. Classes pretty much have every skill by then, and there's not enough of a stat difference between 54-55 to matter.

You can get from 50 to 52 in a weekend, and to 53 within the next couple days. 54 in like a week. That is playing fairly casual hours, if all you do is grind. Obviously it will be slower if you do other stuff too. Just saying that the grind is not totally crazy, it's just not fun... you just want to use exp scrolls/tea/potions/costume if you have it and grind hard at night.

TheScorpionGR•

And here i am complaining about how hard it is to reach level 35, LOL!! What you just described sounds absolutely insane! 1 week to gain 1 level?! F@ck me! No level cap my ass devs! Haha!

1
ArisildeDamal•

Yeah, that's the nature of soft caps. it gets exponentially harder each level after the soft cap is reached. In this case that is 50. When Mediah comes out apparently it will be raised to 55, meaning everyone who no-life grinds from 50-55 now will have wasted a shitload of effort on a task that will be made drastically easier after the update. Literally the only benefit to doing so is trolling people in world pvp now, and if sieges actually come out before mediah the 55s will have an advantage. We have no way of knowing if that will happen, so people are doing it "just in case" at this point.

glad to help you sort out a target to shoot at. happy hunting. ( next, get yuria +15 , and make it blue if you haven't already :p .. that was a fun side puzzle )

1
ChaoticsaurOP•

I started playing last week, level 34 Tamer, my question is, how long did it take you to get to 50? 40 hours perhaps?

2
Chornax•

Depends on how much play. As a tamer, solo I was able to get to 50 in 3-4 days somewhat casually. A day and a half in actual playing time.

2
TheScorpionGR•

From level 1 to 50 in 36 hours?! Are you sh!ting me?! How?

3
madeofwin•

Did it in about 20 hours on a Ranger. Other classes may be somewhat slower, but the basic principal is the same, go to an area with good density and not a lot of people around, and pull packs of 5+ over and over and over until you level. Don't waste time fighting things in any quantity lower than 3.

The best things to farm are generally things that are light-red, white, or light-green, which you can kill in 1-2 hits and move on to the next group. Quantity is much, much greater than quality.

Also, buy Milk Tea and use it. Wear a costume if you have one. Pop your scrolls when you get them from awakening quests. Don't let people bully you out of a good area (you will probably have to be aggressive yourself to accomplish this). Most of all, come hell or high water, always be killing something.

4
TheScorpionGR•

Under 20h?! Damn! Impressive. Not planning to spend any money for Pearls, bought the game, thats my budget. Nothing lower than 5 you say? Hmmm... I kinda knew Ranger might be the fastest to level up, killing from far away and all. This Milk tea you mentioned, can i get it without spending real money? Also something i was really wondering about, how do i use the Outfit slots in my inventory? All my equipment are just on the out circle, why?

2
Chornax•

Experience boost help tremendously. Cash shop outfit gives 10%, and the Milk Tea gives an additional 8%.

If your not really into buying the outfits it might take slightly longer. But it's not too bad. There's other combat xp scrolls that the black spirit gives ( not to often)

Making sure your in the right zones to get the most out of your time. I think once your 36 abandoned camp or the cave near florin would be good for you at this point(khruto until 36 i think). Also, partying with other individuals would really rack up the xp because you pull more mobs and kill em quickly.

Also i guess another thing is to factor in is timezones during primetime it might be slightly harder to level because everyone is there. So if you're grinding at a off peak time more mobs for you.

3
TheScorpionGR•

Yeah no more spending on BDO, especially cash shop, its such a bloody ripoff, even if it was a F2P game, which it isnt.

I guess i must join a guild though, partying up with peeps will be easier through a guild i guess, just need to find one.

Ak120691•

I purchased the game last ~thursday and I hit 50 last night. It's not that hard.

1
TheScorpionGR•

Where would you recommend i go level up? Im 34 currently.

1
Blurp3•

Khurutos then chimeras then giants or saunil.

2
Ak120691•

Uhh I believe I was in Caphras (Kaphras?) cave. It has like Demonic Shadow Possessed people in it.

1
AngryKooterO_o•

but!, did you do it as a tamer? sober?

1
Ak120691•

Ranger. Yes.

1
ChaoticsaurOP•

I play a tamer as well it took me about 3 days of in game play time to hit 50, I did a lot of messing around with trade and gathering though along the way.

1
TheScorpionGR•

72 hours sounds more reasonable:)
