An Idiot's Guide to the Ultimate LeBlanc Syndicate - The Incredibly Belated Edition

Guide/Analysis

Welcome back to another Ultimate boss guide! :D

This is an awful guide for me to do; I think it’s haunted by the awfulness of X-2…

First, I was ~90% finished with the guide. Then, my dorm mate shut off my computer (didn’t save) and screamed, “April Fools!” I had to start from scratch... q.q

Attempt #2: Was ~95% done and was ecstatic. Then, I misclicked and CLOSED THE PASTEBIN TAB (I write my guides with the help of pastebin). Crying due to 3+ hours of wasted work.

I’m going to start write with the help of Google Docs now and save the manuscript ev’ry now and then (even if it auto saves). Lesson learned.

This guide might be a little bland, since I’m tired of doing this guide over and over again. Sorry ‘bout that.

Now, enough of my own personal backstory. The LeBlanc Syndicate is an interesting battle and is yet another entry into multitarget Ultimate battles.

Target Scores:

  • Afflict a member of the LeBlanc Syndicate with Blind.

  • Afflict a member of the LeBlanc Syndicate with Slow.

  • Defeat Ormi last.

Movepool:

LeBlanc, Logos, and Ormi switch to their Weak phase at about 50%.

LeBlanc [50% and 100% scripted attacks]:

  • Not-So-Mighty Guard: Grant Protect & Shell to all targets. Bring Dispel/Banishing Strike to dispel this.

LeBlanc [Normal]:

  • Fira/Blizzara/Thundara/Watera: Deals moderate fire/ice/lightning/water magical damage to one target.

  • Mach Fan: Deals heavy NAT wind magical damage to all targets. LeBlanc’s most common attack. Bring good magic mitigation to counter the sheer multiplier.

  • Love Tap: Grants Haste to one target. It isn’t too bad, especially since Slow can easily counteract it.

  • White Wind: Heals all targets for 2564 HP. AKA LeBlanc wasting a turn.

  • No Love Lost: Deals heavy NAT wind magical damage to all targets and U Dispels them. Used every 6 turns and only if Logos and Ormi are still alive. Due to this attack, I highly recommend killing LeBlanc (or Logos) really fast.

LeBlanc [Weak]:

  • Same movepool, except Fira/Blizzara/Thundara/Watara are upgraded to their “ga” forms and thus do more damage (still one target, though).

Logos [Normal]:

  • Attack: Deal moderate ranged physical damage to one target.

  • Hail of Bullets: Deal ranged physical damage three time to random targets. This attack can troll you by targeting the same character multiple times. Seems to ignore Blind as well, which is a bummer.

  • Russian Roulette: Deal moderate special physical ranged damage and Poison, Confuse, Sleep, Slow, Sap one target. Can cause some rage-inducing RNG. Blind Logos. Period.

Logos [Weak]:

  • Same movepool, but Attack is much less common (and Hail of Bullets and Russian Roulette is, of course, much more common).

  • Logos can attack twice per turn.

Ormi [Normal]:

  • Attack: Deals one physical attack to one target.

  • Huggles: Deals one moderate physical attack to one target. Thou name arest greater than thy damage.

  • Supercollider: Deals one very heavy ranged physical attack to one target. Ormi wastes one turn charging it up. As long as you have good physical mitigation, this shouldn’t be a problem.

  • Draw Fire (Counter): Redirect all singe target physical attacks, black magic, and white magic to the user. Triggered by LeBlanc or Logos getting attacked. Removed by Blind and removes Blind upon casting. Unless you’re purely using AoE, Blind is a must to dispel this (not to mention a target score).

Ormi [Weak]:

  • Same moves as Normal phase, but no Attack.

  • Concussive Blast: Deals massive NAT ranged physical damage to all targets. Ormi wastes one turn charging it up. After knocking Ormi to 50% HP, try and burst him down so he doesn’t use this.

Analysis:

A very creative battle and mimics a mixed team. LeBlanc acts as the mage and buffer, using magic and buffing her fellow teammates. Logos is the offensive firepower and status inflictor. Ormi, finally, is the knight who protects his allies.

Teambuilding

RW selection:

Basic RW selection.

SG=SS2>Hastega>Medicas

If you have a Wall and Hastega and are using a mage team, consider bringing Yuna’s BSSB for her 1st Burst.

Abilities:

Attacks that Slow/Blind - Target Score & helping to reduce damage; required for target scores; Blind dispels Ormi’s Draw Fire

AoE - Multitarget battle; especially recommend Yukikaze due to blind proc.

Standard Mitigation and Boostga is obviously good here as well, of course.

RMs:

Once again, very standard. Remember to be careful of DEF/RES lowering RMs due to, well, it lowering your defenses or resistance :P

Remember to remove your "ability spring" RMs (Concentration, Moon's Grace etc.). They literally do nothing in battles with one level besides wasting a RM slot on your characters.

Recommended Team:

Pretty much any team is good here. It just depends on the abilities and relics you have. If you can defeat them easier (and complete the target scores), choose that team.

Do note that while mage teams will find it easier to burst the LeBlanc Syndicate down easier with AoE magic, physical teams have an easier time inflicting statuses and dispelling without losing fire power.

Basic Battle Strategies:

Priority List:

Apply Mitigation > Remove Ormi’s Draw Fire > Kill LeBlanc > Blind Logos > Kill Logos

Just a small priority list I made up to act as a stratagem for this battle (and because I’m tired of writing this again and again and again q.q). Do note that Slowing LeBlanc can lengthen the time before she uses No Love Lost. Always remember to have common sense. This message is not brought to you by Thomas Paine.

Good luck! がんばろう! :D

Final Thoughts:

This is a very strategy-based battle. While relics and hones are obviously still very important, I feel like this battle emphasizes on your technique rather than RNGesus. However, this battle is rather difficult. A main deciding factor to determine your victory is killing LeBlanc before she uses No Love Lost. This basically means you have a 6 turn timer, which can be lengthened if you Slow her. In addition, you have to survive the onslaught of three enemies. After several attempts (or just a few), you should be able to develop a good strategy, making the LeBlanc Syndicate much easier.

I would like to thank u/fattybomchacha for all the information on LeBlanc Syndicate's stats and movepool! Be sure to check kongbakpao's website for guides on all events! :D
