Fairly new to the series but I am caught up and have a few questions.

So I started by watching Bleach on Netflix and I was hooked! I then watched the series online got a little distracted at the huge break between Ichigo and Ulqihora and then I finished the anime and I thought the manga was over but to my surprise it isn't. I have a few questions sorry if they are dumb.

  1. What day of the week does the manga come out?

  2. Are the soul reapers people who once lived as like real people in the real world?

  3. When they perform that ritual to like help lost souls do they just send them to the slums of the Rukon district??

  4. Is there like preference people have between Rukia and Orihime? Because Rukia is way better.

  5. What the hell is going on in this arc?? I get the Quincys are bad but like don't they know about the whole soul balance thing? Where do they go if everything is destroyed and where are these powers they have coming from I thought they were all supposed to be just bow and arrow guys... Like what are the chances Uryuu his dad, grandpa and Ichigo's mom all have plain Jane powers and then there are dudes who do something with poison ones a sniper and one grows like stronger everytime he's hurt..?

  6. Lastly, is anyone actually dying in this final arc? It started off super dark and I'm thinking all these main characters are dying but it seems like no one actually is dead.

Edit- thanks for answering some of these questions guys. I may have read through the manga to fast I thought I was getting the gist of it but I guess not but thank you for helping me understand a little more about this show!

JakeyG21Where did Aizen go???•
  1. Thursdays and wednesdays(early releases).

  2. Some? u/khaotictwist would explain better.

  3. Well not all go to rukon district, there are like 90 districts or something.

  4. Rukia.

  5. Quincies have grudges against SS and invade when they have power. Read it, I don't want to spoil it.

  6. Yeah people are dying in this arc the most.

Just read it

  1. We usually get it thursday from mangastream. On rare occasion it is early.

  2. Some are, like Rukia. Other than her, we generally aren't told. Nobles are born in soul society for sure. We've seen a number of people from rukongai (like Toshiro, Renji, and some others) and it's a safe bet that they came from the human world, but we don't have confirmation.

  3. Pretty much. There are some nicer areas in rukongai, but below district 50 in any direction people don't even own shoes... and there's 80 districts. The part of rukongai near the gate we see early on in the soul society arc is about as good as it gets. It isn't all bad though, since most live without having to worry about food. There could also be other benefits we simply don't know about.

  4. It's entirely up to preference. Rukia is the more developed of the two (as one would expect from the lead heroine in a series) but beyond that it's entirely opinion. Personally, I think Rukia is better and Orihime is kinda annoying, but everyone is entitled to an opinion.

  5. A lot is going on, but it can mostly be summed up with the quincies are back, they want to rule/destroy/remake the universe, and they have an assortment of abilities. Quincies don't really give a damn about the balance and never have. That's the reason for the first war. This time it's more about Yhwach taking control than anything else though. The balance has nothing to do with their motives. The power they get come from Yhwach, who's definitely more than just a quincy but that hasn't been fully revealed yet. He gives them a piece of his souls to give them powers. Your average quincy fights using bows and the stuff we've been seeing until this point, but sternritter, who are the ones we see the most of, aren't average.

  6. Yamamoto, Unohana, Chojiro, and Nemu all died, Kensei and rose are currently dead (as far as we know), Ukitake is in pretty bad shape and could die at any time, most stenritter have died, and more will probably die before the end. I might be missing a few, but I think that's everyone for now.

Are the soul reapers people who once lived as like real people in the real world?

It's confirmed that Rukia was. It's also confirmed that Yoruichi, Omaeda, Sui-Feng, Kaien, Ukitake, Kyouraku, Nanao, Byakuya, Isshin and Kira were all born souls, since they are/were all nobles.

When they perform that ritual to like help lost souls do they just send them to the slums of the Rukon district??

They're all sent to Rukongai, but many districts are actually decent.

I thought they were all supposed to be just bow and arrow guys... Like what are the chances Uryuu his dad, grandpa and Ichigo's mom all have plain Jane powers and then there are dudes who do something with poison ones a sniper and one grows like stronger everytime he's hurt..?

Souken (Uryuu's grandfather) was very traditional. Quilge specifically mentions that he refused to use Vollständig. So Ishida was likely influenced by him to think that Quincy only use bow and arrow. What the Quincy really are about is manipulating Reishi (everything that's made from "spirit particles"), so they can use it to create guns, swords, knives, whatever they want. And the only Quincy who have Schrifts (the "cool" powers) are the Sternritters, and the powers are given by Yhwach. Chapter 565 explains it better.

Through Gerard (the one that grows that grows stronger everytime he's hurt) and Pernida (the giant hand) both already had their special powers, since they were parts of the Soul King. There isn't much about this yet...

  1. Some Soul Reapers(Shinigami)/Souls have previously lived in the Human World. Others were born in Soul Society from Soul parents.

  2. Quincies gain extra unique powers called "Schrifts" when they are given a bigger soul piece from the Quincy King(Yhwach) that's carved into their own soul. As for the weapons, these Quincies have made advancements to their own abilities. So they are not restricted to just making Reishi bows and arrows. Uryuu's family stuck to the traditional ways.

Adding to his question 2. What would happen if Ichigo dies? Can he be send after his death and become a shinigami again?

1
KhaoticTwistI wanted to stand up from my chair too :(•

I think it depends on what form dies in. If his Human form dies, then he'll just be a Soul. Nothing really changes except for the fact that he no longer has a real Human body anymore(but he could probably just use a Gigai to interact in the Human World). If he dies in his Soul form, then his Human form would probably die as well and he'll end up being reincarnated as another Human in the Human World. Also, if he gets killed by a Shinigami's Zanpakutou, then while he'll still remain as a Shinigami, he would probably lose his Hollow powers because he'll be purified.

But of course as long as Yhwach is alive, if Ichigo dies, then his soul would just be absorbed into Yhwach.

Sounds complicated :p Thanks for the response.

While what people are saying about Souken being traditional and thus affecting Uryu's perception of what Quincies should be is true, I'm sure we can relate to the OP's reaction. We, as viewers, had no way to even remotely suspect that Quincy powers would be anything like this.

The Fullbringers made sense because their powers were tame and thematic. If 90% of them turned out to actually be eldritch abominations, we'd be frowning at that, too.

KhaoticTwistI wanted to stand up from my chair too :(•

Granted, we hardly had any Quincies to show off their powers. Ryuuken and Souken were hardly shown and Uryuu was a novice. There would be no way we could see the true potential of Quincies. At least with the Fullbringers, they were introduced and shown off in the same arc(Chad didn't even know what he was in order to truly show off).

All of this is more or less addressed. No spoilers for you!

I posted a theory a while back where I posited that aside from the Shinigami who were born into families with high spiritual energy, the majority used to be hollows that were purified and passed over. I won't go in depth, but essentially we have never met:

A) a shinigami who remembers being human B) a soul who remembers life as a hollow C) reborn Arrancar trying to exact revenge on Soul Society

However, since we know that some people who pass over remember everything about their human lives, I reckon all these factors are related and that Shinigami are typically ex-hollows, hence the amnesia.

I suppose that would make Kenpachi an ex-Vasto Lorde

Q4: Why ask a question when you already have an opinion about it?

1
Lightbrand•

Forget about question 2 and 3, they are irrelevant to the series because Kubo readily dropped them after the first introduction arc where Rukia barely touched upon how Shinigami are suppose to do their day job.

The rest of the story you probably realized. Barely any hollow hunting and afterworld soul-guiding.

Because she said, people that dies on Earth goes to Soul Society, and Souls that die reincarnate to Earth. It is obviously to have a time-dilation going on between the two realms. But even then things don't make sense because "Death is Cheap" will kick in. Ichigo and Ishida's moms are dead, but they should be able to find her in Soul Society right? Nope. It's still suppose to feel like a tragedy.

Sirocco_Hottest Femritter•

The Soul Reapers are a mixture of both, really. Soul Society's structure is such that the Gotei 13 are situated in the middle with the Rukongai surrounding it. Some Soul Reapers are 'born' into Soul Society (Byakki, Yoruichi), while some come from the Rukongai. The latter are special human souls who have lots of spiritual power and are thus fit to serve the Gotei 13.

Rest is answered

About Q5 ; except second poll orihime has always been in top10 popular characters 7 and rukia Always ranking Higher than her ; but to prefer ? that's not a good question to ask!

They have different roles in anime ; I don't think you can prefer one [ unless talking about who the main heroine os // which is not important in bleach series ] ; It seems you have read the manga too fast !
