Well from this still, it looks like they got Failbaddon's arms right. Oh wait it's Angron. ;)

Just saw this in my youtube feed and though it'd be a cool thing to show to everyone.

A 9 minute review of a recast.
A paragraph would suffice.
Also this guy is full of shit. Talks about how he doesn't support recasts, but then showcases one because he got it for free. Which is advertising. He even says the review is the condition for sending it in (I skipped ahead and caught that gem).
What a waste of time and what a crock.
Now gimme a dollar to make my hobby a job!

I don't like video reviews, but it's more useful than a pictureless review or no review at all which is more common.

He's definitely failing ethics if he's promoting good he thinks are morally wrong though.

I agree that he contradicted himself but I liked the video. Aren't we always bitching about people not positing pictures on their reviews here? Haha.

I saw this. Some people are really butthurt in the comments.

I own a business.

GW creates false scarcity and builds the brand up to a premium level via their price point. Those ARE good things for a business but if you do it for too long, ignore your customers, and ignore your competition you'll allow for competition to expand and your market share will shrink. Exactly what is happening to GW.

Recasters are stealing GW IP but, and this is a big but, we would all still buy from them even if they were making product that was just "a little different". See anvil industries or chapter house. That still shrinks their market share.

Recently GW has gotten a lot of things right I thought they'd never get right, but at the same time there is a massive price jump on their newer models that makes it very difficult to support them.

On the other hand I've probably spent more money buying paint from GW to paint recasts than I would have spent on models if I bought them from GW.

This, I recently started turning towards Vallejo, though. For the dropper bottles.

They have been doing a lot of things right. I will give them credit. I hope they keep on this path.

About 15% of my army is recast.

As interesting as a lot of their recent actions may be, the fact is that their prices aren't getting cheaper. Heck, they aren't even stabilizing. Right now I'm mostly like you: I'll buy paints from GW, and that's it.

I've actually said to the staff "I won't buy models here because you are literally the most expense place to buy them" and gotten a "ah, you caught me!" type laugh in return.

I do like being able to go in knowing they will have every paint in teh citadel range available and higher turnover means less chance of getting paint that has sat there for years going lumpy.

is there an easy way to fix the lumpy paint? a few of my pots seemed to have turned. a bit of water and stirring helped a little, but it still feels off

We don't have any official GW store here in Portugal, so the prices on the miniatures sold on the FLGS tend to be even steeper than usual.

Edit: Like, 30€ for miniatures that would otherwise be 25.
