Early February, 1998

  • Not long before Hae's body is found, Becky, Adnan, Krista, Aisha and Sean go out to dinner. After dinner, they sit in Krista's room and look at pictures of Hae. Adnan is teary eyed.

  • Adnan drives Becky home, says he's worried about Hae, he prays for her, and that Hae was still calling him and paging him after the breakup. He says Hae called him the night before she went missing, and that she asked if they would ever get back together. Adnan told Hae no, but they would always be close. Adnan asks Becky if she thinks he "could have said something to Hae that night that made her do something or go somewhere?" Adnan says he was confused, but okay, with the breakup. But the fact that Hae still paged him after the breakup bothered him. Adnan didn't understand why Hae would do that but not want to be with him.

The team consists of an outside psychologist (Dwayne), a school counselor (Betty?), nurse Sharon Watts, and a teacher (no name given). All four will wait in the health suite for students to come in.

  • Krista testified that Adnan went to Peter's house with most of their other friends. Krista said there were only three people at Aisha's, until just before 5PM when Adnan arrived at Aisha's.

  • First time Becky sees Adnan after Hae's body is found, Adnan said he: a) knew that Hae breaking up with him was the right thing, b) Hae loved him more than he loved her, c) Hae was able to put aside her feelings so his parents and mosque wouldn't suffer.
