We are Sli.mg - AMA

Hello r/The_Donald!

I'm Technician90, creator of Sli.mg, and I am here with my business partner u/Slimg_CrispyKat, the developer of the site.

The site originally launched last June as a response to censorship on Imgur relating to fatpeoplehate content. It was initially supposed to be a joke but It became clear very quickly that there was real demand for an alternative image host.

I partnered with CrispyKat in October and relaunched the site in November after getting the original site shut down. Fortunately we were able to keep our userbase and we have been working constantly to improve the service and build features that users need.

Ever since then we've tried our best to maintain policies respecting user-privacy, freedom of expression, responsible advertising, transparency and accountability. For example we are the first image host to include a mod-log, we do not partner with any third party organizations and share user information. We investigate and verify DMCA claims instead of just taking things down and we have no sponsored content of any kind on our site.

Its been an incredible week, and it's only Thursday! We've seen a massive increase in traffic due to all the support we've seen here and we'd like to take this opportunity to field any questions you may have about our site, get your feedback and suggestions for new features on our site.

4:00PM Edit: Thank you everyone for such an amazing response, thank you for all your questions comments and suggestions. I hope we did an good enough job answering everything. I have to step away from the computer for a bit but I'll come back this evening to see if there are any new questions. Always feel free to email us at admin@sli.mg or message me here on reddit.

Thank you for everything!
