Best truck for $8,000-$12,000?

Best meaning the truck that fits these criteria: reliability, nice interior, off-road capability, reasonable cost to maintain.

The extent of my personal experience with trucks is that I drove an '04 standard cab F-150 STX for a while, the only thing I didn't like about that truck was the lack of a backseat, and no 4X4.
