Suggestions for buying shorts: Bearbottom

Hello, I'm in the market for some new shorts, and I think I want to look into some shorts like these.

I'm used to wearing shorts that sit an inch or two above the knee so this might be a bit of a change for me. I think I'd like it though, but it's hard to tell. Do you guys have any suggestions for the fit or experience with these shorts? Basically, I want to buy these to see if I like how they look on me with the intention to wear this style regularly.

Also, what do you recommend for versatile spring/summer colors? I'm thinking Night Sight or Wagon Wheel and Nottingham Blue.
