I just wanted to say how much Homestuck affected the way I am right now

(This was originally posted on r/INTP, I just altered some of it)

Okay, so first, because of a friend I indirectly found TV Tropes, which then became my drug of choice for a few years. One day while binging on TVTropes links I found out about Homestuck. I read a little about it, and, despite the length, I powered my way through it in about a month (This was in 2013, right after the Gigapause had started).

After I was done, I downloaded Pesterchum, clicked random, and came across a girl called Alex. She was the one who introduced me to tumblr. In turn, I was linked to a post on this subreddit on some fan theory, and basically that's how I ended up on reddit.

Before I started reading HS, I had a mindset of "This is way too fucking long, is it really worth it?" if I had given in to this, I would have never come across Alex and, therefore, reddit.

reddit is a very big part of what I am today, and most of my time is spent there, and because of it I found a lot of new shows and games I would never have found out about if it weren't for reddit. I have no idea what I would be doing with most of my free time if I didn't had reddit. Basically, if I had stopped reading Homestuck, I would be in a very different place from where I am now. Maybe I would be more sociable, maybe I would be more productive, or maybe I would be just like I am right now but I would spend most of my time watching Netflix and playing videogames instead of redditing. All I can say is, what seemed like a seemingly minor choice at the moment (Should I read this or not?) completely changed my life.
