Need help coming up with a fun and competitive gladiator beast deck.

I've looked through all of the gladiator beast cards, and I really like the premise of swapping monsters in and out, along with the recurring spells and traps. However, when I tried it out online; I felt like it stood no chance versus the ai decks, mostly to the fact that I feel like they just normal summon and then they are done.

So my question would be: what can I do or add to make the deck a little better?

The trial deck I made was just a bunch of gladiator beast cards and no real specific cards out of the archetype.
