Can't summon on PC

I got the game early on Xbox one, enjoyed it.

But kept seeing clips of PC play and couldnt resist.

Gameplay is far better but i cant seem to summon anyone?

Is this a common thing or is my PC messing with the game?

EDIT: There are plenty of summon signs, they all just keep failing
