It ain't right

This was a few years ago, when I was young enough to be in a church youth group, but old enough to be repulsed by the actions of what happened. I live in the midst of the Bible Belt, to start, so churches are everywhere. I attended one in my home town, and had been for a few months. Everything was okay for a while; the youth leader was cool and I liked the others I went there with. Well, after about four months (I think) the church called for a change. Anytime a church does this, anyone knows it's about to go downhill. The story happens in the middle of 'worship,' the part before all seriousness. A mini church concert complete with strobing lights (yeah, wtf right?) Blaring nice and loud, all fellow youth attendees thrashing about like a Christian mosh pit. There was a girl there I knew, and had been going through a rough patch. One night she'd been in hysterics. Crying, telling myself and a small group of people she wanted to die. We were all around her, obviously not acting like the others. Well, one of the adults overseeing us walked over and put her hand on my shoulder, and said "you can't do this right now, now is time for worship." I'm like, wtf, this girl here is crying her eyes out and you want me to abandon her to go dancing? We tried to explain the situation, but she ignored our 'excuses' and told us to disband. I'm not the average Christian, and refused to go thrash about. I mean, would Jesus ignore a hurting person to go waving his hands about like a fool? Nope. Unfortunately, we were still split up, the girl was shoved back into the mosh pit and I lost track of her the rest of the night. That was the last time I went there. I didn't tell anyone why I left, because they didn't deserve an explanation. I have no idea if the girl was okay, but I know she got 'talked to.' Yes, because dancing would help her suicidal state of mind. This still pissed me off, though, though they said I had no right to be. Never stepped foot in that place again.
