How bad is this lie?
So, last weekend I went out with a guy I met online. We hit it off and had a pretty spectacular time. We're going out again this weekend. I really like him. The problem is that I am moving to a different state in June, and I didn't tell him that. In fact, I lied and said I wasn't sure what my next step was (but that moving was a possibility). I've been feeling really shitty about it ever since.
At first, when we were just messaging, I was vague, because I didn't really expect anything to come of it. And then, when he asked me about my plans in person, I was having fun with him and could tell I liked him and thought that if I said I was leaving, he may want to just kind of end things. Which, I know, would be understandable since I am leaving and is therefore the most likely scenario, but I want to spend time with him and don't want that to happen.
As I said, I feel awful, and I'm planning to tell him the full truth when I see him this weekend. I'm feeling very anxious about it. If he doesn't want to waste time on someone who isn't going to be around, there's nothing I can do about that. But I guess, as I'm going to be fully honest and apologize and eat crow, I'm wondering how others feel they would react if someone they went out with did something like this?
