Wanting to start prepping for LSAT. Our small college library has LSAT prep books but they're Kaplan books. How do I make the most of LSAT prep with these books?

From what I've read Kaplan isn't a trustworthy LSAT prep system. I have a Manhattan LSAT prep book at home but I'm also seven hours away from home. My school has the newest Kaplan resources for LSAT prep. How do I make the most of beginning prep work?
