Sawtelle Japantown Apartments

Is it possible to find any 1 bedroom or decent studio for around $1500 in this area or nearby? Coming to LA next month to find a place. I've got a great credit score and coming as a resident physician to UCLA. I'm only finding very rare listings, but was wondering if I'd have more luck on the ground.
