PSA: The DJ Box.

General

Hey guys, i wanted to bring to you some information (i found a lack on this matter) about audio adapters (and other items), specially for mobile DJs. Now, I took some information from Here and here, so this is the list i compiled (i know some of them may be a redundancy, but better to have and not need than to need and not have)

  • 2 x RCA mono female coupler

  • 2 x RCA female to 1/4” male mono jack

  • 1 x RCA female pair to 1/4” male stereo jack

  • 2 x RCA male plug to 1/8″ male stereo plug

  • 2 x 1/8” female to 1/4” male jack

  • 2 x 1/8" female stereo jack pair to 1/8″ male stereo plug

  • 1 x 1/8” male to 1/8” female cable

  • 2 x 1/8″ male stereo plug to 1/4″ female stereo jack

  • 1 x 1/8” female to RCA pair male

  • 2 x 1/8″ female coupler

  • 1 x 1/8” male stereo plug to 2 x 1/8” female stereo jack

  • 2 x 1/4” female jack to 1/8” male jack

  • 2 x 1/4″ female stereo coupler

  • 1 x 1/4″ male stereo plug to 2 female stereo 1/4″ jacks

  • 2 x 1/4″ male stereo plug to 1/8″ female stereo jack

  • 2 x XLR female jack to 1/4″ male stereo plug

  • 2 x XLR male plug to 1/4″ male stereo plug

  • 1 x USB cable

  • 1 x Flashlight

  • Extra pair of Earplugs

  • Extra pair of headphones (or earbuds)

  • Gaffer tape

  • Electrical adapter for 2-prong outlets

  • Extra of everything for audio and lightning issues (light bulbs, batteries for wireless microphones, etc)

Finally, i suggest for those who are Digital DJs, to have a look at this article from DJTT. Although is always better to have a cellphone/ipod/mp3 player with a mix ready to play on an spare channel in a mixer, it could never hurt to have a kit like that.

Hope this helps.
