Using a router to access wireless off domain

The sysadmins at my job require users to be on the domain in order to access the wifi. So, two questions:

1. What's the SOP for creating guest wifi without adding a domain user?

2. Can I hook up a router with DD-WRT to the LAN and create my own wifi? Asking if this is possible, not ethical.
