What distro should I go for if I just want to use it like I would use windows?

Pretty much the title. I kinda want to escape the windows update problems and other stuff along with it. I have been looking around here and in other linux subreddits but everyone pretty much talks about programming and develop stuff which is totally fine and understandable. However I don't want to program at all, I just want to use Linux like it would be windows (don't mean the interface) just the same usage, like for games, navigate in the web, watch videos, watch movies, listen to music... stuff like that.
If there are so many possible choices, then maybe you can tell me the best one overall for a laptop with 4GB ram. And if this still means there's still plenty of choices then maybe you can tell me one that it's just the most fun + best to use daily. If that distro or the distros overall require me to learn lot of commands, that's ok I kinda don't mind I'll use it for a long time in a different partition so I have time to learn AS LONG AS THERE IS REALLY GOOD GUIDES FOR ME TO CHECK/READ THEM.
About the games, if the performance is bad then just don't give a **** about that I'll dual boot with windows anyway, maybe one day I can fully use linux for everything :).
I have one little question:

• Everytime there is a release if I want to upgrade I pretty much lose everything? Like I was reinstalling it / fresh install?
PS: I'm currently learning SQL Server and MySQL at school. Just said this in case it's something important that comes with the distro or something like that :P.
