MLS / USL relegetion

Don't know if this has previously been discussed, but could MLS and USL benefit from adopting the EPL relegation type of system? I understand that the current MLS members would be against the idea, but from an expansion and quality of product on the field perspective could relegation system potentially bring some type of unity between the leagues?

New here and I know getting way ahead of everything, but was just curious.
