Hand swollen, what should I do

I'm new to IV use and even registered at times but couldn't push it b/c of fear... Now my tolerance has sky rocketed. Anyways I pricked my left arm a bunch of times because I'm new and hard to me to draw back blood with one hand. I went with my hand because that vein was the most noticeable. Once I drew back blood, I knew I hit and then pushed the plunger down. I could'veI noticed my vein was getting fat or it could be that the needle went through and I missed...

Heres a picture of what it looks like but pretty much worried about this. Some friends say just ride it out, its gonna to go away. Is there things I can do to take care of it.

I have work and school tomorrow and I don't even know what excuse I can say for this.. if anyone has been in this situation before..
