Best day hike in King's Canyon/Sequoia area?

Hello, I'm working out the section of my trip that takes me from Joshua Tree to Yosemite. In between, my friend and I plan on stopping at King's Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on their favorite day hikes in either of the two parks. I have reservations for the site in Yosemite so we can spend all day in the other 2 places. Thanks!
