Daniel looked down at his body. In the real world, he was a skinny, pale man of 27. In this world, his body was lean and strong. It was strange, this body felt real. It moved like a real body. There was no difference. But that was the kicker of the LinkVR. The neural Link. The device tapped into your brain directly, allowing you full control and sensation in any virtual application.

Several hours passed as Daniel explored the tutorial. Farming, quests, trading. He said hello to a few newbies as well, and everyone seemed friendly. Checking the clock, he saw how late it was.

Oh, shit! Gotta get to bed. He thought. He pulled up the menu to log out, but the button was grey. He tried to press it. Nothing.

Again, nothing. And again. Nothing.

"What the hell?" He muttered. As he looked around, he saw more people struggling to log out. He tried again, same result.

Little did he know that he, and thousands of others, were stuck in this virtual world for a long time to come.
