Need Design Help - How to lift out a recessed table top?

I'm making a convertible table to serve both as a dining room table/gaming table. The majority of construction is finished and I've been working from this set of plans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spdescYFqIE

All has been going well, however I've made a few design changes along the way and I need some help resolving an issue that's arisen as a result. The primary change in question is the table top.

Instead of using 1x6 boards like the original design calls for, I purchased a large sheet of Birch Plywood for the top and cut it to size. I wanted a single, uniform look for a dining room table rather than several smaller boards. Additionally, I'd prefer to NOT cut a hole in the wood table top if I can avoid it, which means I need to devise another plan for lifting the table top out when converting it to a gaming table.

That's where the Reddit community comes in! I'm looking for suggestions on subtle or hidden ways to lift the table top out without having visible straps, holes, brackets or handles. Any suggestions are welcome, but I am working with limited tools. I don't have access to a full wood shop so please keep that in mind when making your suggestions.

If you have any questions or need more info than what you can see in the video I'm happy to provide it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
