New Conan game coming out. Why no AO successor?

Funcom is set to develop Conan Exiles (www.conanexiles.com). If I remember correctly AOC didn't do so well? While AO is still running (strong?) 15 years later.

I emailed funcom and offered to pledge money to help support the development of AO2 and I think other that can should do the same. I'm sure if they started a kickstarter all the MMO pages would pick it up....all the gaming magazines/websites would pick up the story and they'd meet whatever monetary goals necessary to create AOs successor.

Could be wishful thinking...but I don't know of a single MMO that deserves the reboot AO does.
