What I've learned from working in a call center

So as the title suggests I work in an in-bound call center. At previous jobs I freaked out and made my coworkers answer the phone, but now that's all I do for 8 hours a day. I'm pretty used to talking on the phone now and I wasn't at all before. Sometimes I do have little moments where it all seems more real and I'm like "SHIT I'm talking on the phone right now" but those are rare and don't last very long. When I'm talking on the phone I adopt a different persona. It's me, but a me that's calm and confident and intelligent. My boyfriend even tells me that I use a different voice on the phone. As soon as I pick it up I become this "other person" but really it's just me actually being chill and sure of myself/what I'm saying. I still make mistakes and make a fool about myself, but even when I do I just jump back into things. Basically I've learned that if you change your frame of mind you can do lots of things that scare you and be a person you never thought you'd be. I know this isn't universally applicable for every scenario, but it can be a good method to test out. Especially if you feel anxious when you need to talk on the phone!

Let me know if you have any questions I can attempt to answer/help you out with!
