Need help with ping issues!

Hello I recently got a new laptop for school/gaming and ever since I've had atrocious ping only in-game. Downloading from steam I have 3.7 mbs (which from canada isnt bad) then I'll play TF2 or rocket league and ill have a minimum ping of 150. I'm also having this issue with my Xbox but only in rocket league on the Xbox. Any suggestions?
