Should Arc Warden be allowed to dissassemble Rapier after purchasing it and using Tempest Double?

Saw this on Khezu's stream, their AW player would make a rapier, spawn double, then dissassemble rapier and keep the Demon Edge on a courier nearby. This seems incredibly broken given that the main hero can farm aggressively without the risk of losing rapier while the double gets all the benefits of it.
